Welcome To Surgical Department

Introduction

The surgical department has always played a prominent role since the birth of this medical school especially in undergraduate teaching as it is one of the core subjects in the medical curriculum. Since the year 1991 the department is also conducting a highly successful postgraduate trainning programme, the Master in Medicine (surgery) and to date we have produce a lot of surgeons locally as well as for other countries. Currrently we have doctors from India, Yemrn, Mauritius and others undergoing training here. We also provide Master Training (by research). Lately we seem to be rather popular with the Yemenis.Providing quality services to the patients has always been our priority ans we are the only tertiary referral center in the northeastern part of Malaysia for general surgery as well as other specialized surgery such as urology, plastic surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery and others. We also offering specialty training in neorosurgery and in plastic and reconstructive surgery. We also endeavor to achieve excellence in the field of research and innovations.
