On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are delighted to welcome you to the 31st Scientific Meeting of the Malaysian Society of Pharmacology and Physiology (MSPP) 2017, to be held in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. This scientific meeting is co-organized by the Malaysian Society of Pharmacology & Physiology, and University Sains Malaysia.
The theme for this meeting is ‘Advancement of research for sustainable health’. Health care provisions cannot grow indefinitely. Sustainable health involves keeping people healthy at an affordable cost, making it accessible to the population. Basic and fundamental research produces knowledge about the etiology and pathogenesis of diseases. This knowledge allows for early intervention towards preventing disease and its complications. Interaction and collaboration between different fields of health sciences and between basic and clinical researchers allows for translational research, which is a significant step towards realizing sustainable health.
With that in mind, we have an exciting array of scientifically stimulating program involving prominent experts in their respective fields, senior and junior researchers. The meeting includes a selection of plenary lectures, symposia, oral and poster presentation in diverse fields of health research, allowing participants to be aware of advances in different health areas. This offers the opportunity for future collaborative research. There are awards up for grabs during the meeting; the top three presentations for poster and oral sessions will be selected for awards.
We will also be having a pre-conference natural product workshop on the 17th of August 2017, a day before the actual scientific meeting. It will be a hands on workshop on the process of natural product extraction, conducted at the School of Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia Health Campus, Kota Bharu. But hurry…..this offer is only open to MSPP2017 Scientific Meeting participants, and is limited to 30 participants only!
